Surprise, surprise. Much like the Saab ¡®wind down¡¯, GM may not wind down Hummer after all. At least not if it gets another suitable offer for the SUV brand.
Last week, GM informed the world that Hummer was more or less doomed to extinction after the deal with Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machines Co. fell through. Today, reports indicate that GM has extended the deadline for a potential deal until May 1, providing Hummer with a few more months of breathing before a wind-down will ensue. There are reportedly several suitors interested in a buy.
