Sichuan Airlines revealed that it cooperate with China Airlines to open a new air route from Chengdu to Hong Kong on December 15, and passengers can buy through tickets to Taipei or Kaohsiung in Hong Kong.

At the end of 2006, when Christmas draws near, the number of tourists travelling to Hong Kong for shopping and Christmas carnivals is expected to experience an exponential growth. In addition, Hong Kong is also a transfer station across the Straits and for the convenience of tourists, Sichuan Airlines not only will offer reservation of hotels in Hong Kong, but also admission tickets to Hong Kong Disneyland.

With the two-way ticket, mainland and Taiwanese tourists can go to each other's place easily via flight.

It is also learnt that the flight to Hong Kong will be operated by Airbus planes, and the frequency will be 4 flights per week.
