　　The economy hotels are everywhere in the streets. They are popular among visitors because of their convenience and cheep charge. According to the survey, there were 2,486 hotels with 170,000 bunks available for the visitors at the end of year 2006. The quality of these hotels have direct impact on the development of the tourism of Chengdu city.
　　Ten Chengdu community representatives made their efforts on the future development of these hotels. They put in a suggestive case to the conference about to constitude “the strategic scheme on the development of the economy hotel in Chengdu”.
　　The suggestive case points out, with the great development of the tourism in Chengdu, Chengdu will receive 1.18 million foreign visitors and 60 million domestic visitors each year. The great number of visitors ask for a more developed system of hotels.
　　“New market structure needs new methods to manage. To manage the economy hotels, county hotels and restaurants with stars together will redound to construct a better residence system in Chengdu.” The case suggests.
$page$　　Chengdu has taken the lead in puting out the charging methods on the economy hotels. On January 1, 2007, Chengdu government formally brought “the Chengdu charging methods on the economy hotels” into effect.
