On 28 December 2005, construction of Line No. 1 of the Chengdu Metro commenced at the South 3rd Ring Road Station. After one year of construction, the main construction works of the station is now completed. It is expected that by April this year, Tian Hui Road (on top of the metro station) will go back to its original state - a 25m broad road.
It is learnt that the total area of the station is 6671 square metres. The highest point in the metro station is 7 metres, the valid breadth is 38 metres and the length is 145.2 metres. There will be 4 exits located at each of the North, South, East and West sides of the station respectively.
Exits 1 and 2 are connected to the High Technology District's Management Commettee, the High Technology District Court, the High Technology District Prosecutorial Office and some residential estates. Exits 3 and 4 on the West will connect to places such as the Xinhua Specialized Middle School. In order to care for the handicapped, there will also be an elevator installed at each of the exits no. 3 and 4.
